Car Insurance For A Cadillac

Cadillac, a luxury brand owned by General Motors, is one of the oldest vehicle brands in the world and the second oldest automobile manufacturer in the U.S. Founded by Henry Leland at the turn of the century, in 1902, Cadillac is second only to Buick in terms of American-made vehicle age.

Known as one of America’s premier luxury vehicle brands, Cadillac has a reputation for comfort and quality. While myths exist as to what the coat of arms logo is meant to signify, in fact, the crest was simply inspired by the complete interchangeability of Cadillac’s precision parts. There is no Cadillac family crest in France, as some people have speculated.

Cadillac Automobile Company was formed from when Henry Ford left the Henry Ford Company and the company was dissolved. Founder Leland persuaded Ford and several key partners that left with him to continue the automobile business using his proven single-cylinder engine. Henry Ford's departure meant the Ford Company required a new name, and on 22 August 1902 it reformed as the Cadillac Automobile Company.

In 2010, Cadillac is the fastest growing luxury brand, with estimated YTD sales to top 140,000, up from 38 percent in 2009. Like most other luxury brands, the high price of a Cadillac means it is often expensive to insure. Unlike BMW, Audi, and Acura, however, Cadillac is known more for its comfortable luxury than its sporty performance luxury, which means only the highly priced Cadillac Escalade holds a spot on the Top 20 Most Expensive Cars to Insure list.
