Profits are up, and in 2009, Ford saw its first full-year of profit in four years. In 2010, Ford expects to see sales of 1.7 million vehicles in the U.S.

The company is also innovating in the production of hybrid and electric vehicles. The Ford Escape electric-hybrid was unveiled in 2005, Ford sells many flex-fuel E85 vehicles, and they have stated they expect a large portion of their vehicle lineup to be electric by 2020.

For safety and affordability, Ford is one of the more affordable vehicles to insure. The Ford Ranger and the Ford Taurus show up on least expensive cars to insure in the U.S. lists. The Ford Mustang, being higher priced and higher in performance, is one of the most expensive vehicles to insure, especially if it’s driven by a male in his twenties.
